About Laura
*Due to high demand for health services in the Sooke area, I am no longer taking new patients at this time. As a solo practitioner I have to establish a schedule that works for me and avoids me burning out and not being able to help anyone at all! I appreciate understanding in this matter*
Laura Kidson graduated from the 3000 hr program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria BC and has been registered since March 2012. Having practiced all over the Greater Victoria area, she has now made her home in the beautiful and wild community of East Sooke, on T’Sou-ke and Scia’new land. She hopes that bringing Massage Therapy services to this rural but growing community will be helpful to residents as we navigate through a global shift. With more people choosing to stay close to home, work remotely, and cut down on transportation costs, now is the perfect time to choose local health care services!
Laura’s practice is open to all ages, genders, and backgrounds, and is LGBTQ+ friendly. Massage therapy is beneficial for everyone from infants to elderly, but is contraindicated for certain conditions, which is why it is important to always disclose any health conditions to your RMT and when in doubt, ask your doctor if it is safe for you to receive it.
While Laura has no specific treatment focus and enjoys treating a variety of conditions and simply promoting well being and relaxation in her clients, she has a special interest in women’s health, respiratory and digestive health, and neurological conditions.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys creating art, gardening, and enjoying the beautiful parks and beaches of our island home. She is an animal lover and likes to spend time with her two cats, Luna and Sky, and her grumpy old cockatiel, Hendrix. She loves the abundance of beautiful wildlife in East Sooke and reminds everyone to be careful on the roads!

About the Space
Amanita Massage Therapy is located i on a rural residential property in East Sooke, located approximately 45 minutes from downtown Victoria. There is plenty of parking on the cul-de-sac and as you enter through the gate and walk up the driveway, you will be greeted with happy clucks from the resident chickens and a hello-bark from the property owner’s dog who will be inside during clinic hours (since not everyone appreciates such a high-energy greeting!)
East Sooke is a rural area with a narrow, winding road and wild west coast weather conditions. Please give yourself extra travel time for your appointment. Sometimes, adverse weather may necessitate cancellation of your appointment. No penalty fee will be charged in those cases. I want everyone to be safe!
*Note on Accessibility*
There are a few steps up to the back porch of the main house where the clinic is located. Please let Laura know if you have any mobility concerns. There is a cat that lives in the house and while she is not allowed in the treatment room, there may be some cat dander in the air of the common spaces. If you have allergies to cats, please let Laura know so she can try to do some extra cleaning before you arrive!
